Construction of a new BART station west of the existing Pleasanton/Dublin Station has all the typical BART difficulties. Added to this is the location for the project, right in the middle of Highway 580, and less than a mile from the 680 interchange. Access was extremely limited, and material stocking was problematic. Vendors could not bring material directly to the site, everything had to go to a lay down yard across the freeway first, and then staged from there to the site.
